Couchbase on Tuesday announced the expansion of its partner ecosystem. Newly announced partnerships with Cloudsoft, CumuLogic and ElasticBox will give customers the option to deploy Couchbase Server to public, private, and hybrid cloud infrastructure. With these new partners, customers can now automate the process of provisioning Couchbase Server to Amazon Web Services, HP Cloud, IBM SoftLayer, VMware, OpenStack, and more.
“We are thrilled to announce the addition of Cloudsoft, CumuLogic and ElasticBox as new partners,” said Rod Hamlin, VP of Business Development, Couchbase. “Adding these partners ensures customers can find the right option for their business to deploy Couchbase Server to their cloud of choice, whether it’s on-premises, public or hybrid, and power their applications with the highest performing and most scalable NoSQL database.”
Recent projections from Gartner indicate that more enterprises will be moving their infrastructure to the cloud, making the expansion of Couchbase's cloud deployment ecosystem timely and relevant. In its 2013 Public Cloud Services Forecast Overview, Gartner projected a 17.7 percent growth rate for public cloud services through 2016. Gartner also projects that cloud computing will account for the majority of new IT spend by 2016 and by the end of 2017, nearly half of large enterprises will have hybrid cloud deployments, emphasizing the importance of enabling deployment of Couchbase technology across all cloud-based environments.
Couchbase Cloud Eco-System
Cloudsoft, CumuLogic and ElasticBox join a thriving Couchbase partner ecosystem. Existing partners for cloud deployments include Amazon Web Services, RightScale, VMware, Windows Azure, HP Cloud Services, Red Hat’s OpenShift, and Eucalyptus. Each of the new partners provides unique benefit to businesses wanting to leverage Couchbase.
Cloudsoft
Cloudsoft Application Management Platform (AMP), built on the open source Apache Brooklyn project, streamlines the deployment and operation of applications by orchestrating services, platforms and infrastructure dynamically and in real time. Enterprises building and running applications can compose these from a wide range of software components, policies and target environments. As a Couchbase partner and an equally committed open source company, Cloudsoft has already contributed support for Couchbase Server to the Apache Brooklyn project and is actively working with Couchbase to add Couchbase Mobile support.
CumuLogic
CumuLogic’s Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform provides a quick and easy way to access fully managed database instances on-premises, on any Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud or virtual machine resource pool. As a Couchbase partner, CumuLogic will provide access to Couchbase “as a service” in public, private and hybrid cloud environments, dramatically improving time-to-market of mission critical applications.
ElasticBox
ElasticBox is an IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) technology that streamlines the development, deployment, and management of applications for any cloud. ElasticBox has pioneered a simplified, modular, service-based application development structure, where fully configured components of application architecture are encapsulated as “Boxes” and made available as a service. The technology provides real time collaboration and a decrease of application delivery time for enterprises. As a Couchbase partner, ElasticBox will create “Couchbase Box”, allowing ElasticBox users to quickly deploy and run Couchbase in the cloud.
