Denmark Looks to Overture and ICOM for Reliable, High-Speed Network Connectivity

Leading Carrier Ethernet and Telecommunications Providers Join Forces for Broadband Delivery to Municipalities and Enterprises Across Five National Regions

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC -- (Marketwire) -- 07/17/12 -- Overture, the preferred Carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation partner for service providers and network operators worldwide, today announced telecommunications provider ICOM Networks A/S is deploying its market-leading Ethernet over Copper solutions. ICOM is leveraging Overture's portfolio for the delivery of high-speed layer 2 and layer 3 services to municipal and enterprise customers across Denmark's five national regions.

"We're always looking at how we can do things better -- like how we can cost-effectively provide the performance, speed, and dependability that large enterprises demand while continuing to address the unique requirements of our municipal customers," said Frederik Homan, CFO and COO, ICOM. "We've chosen Overture as our partner because they deliver competent, high-quality equipment and they are an easy company to do business with. Combining its solutions with our own considerable expertise, we are able to consistently deliver world-class service to our expanding base of Danish municipal customers across our network. Overture's products are an integral part of our strategies for continued growth."

Overture's award-winning Ethernet-over-Copper (EoC) edge and aggregation solutions are being integrated across ICOM's network infrastructure, enabling the telecommunications provider to provide scalable Internet and Wide Area Network (WAN) services to more than 10 percent of Denmark's municipalities. Among the entities relying on ICOM to supply reliable high-volume connectivity for mission-critical applications are a number of public institutions, including police, fire, and other emergency services; schools; and nursing homes. ICOM also provides broadband access to municipal employees like teachers and revenue agents. Additionally, it offers full-service telephony and data connections to private enterprises at speeds ranging from 1Mbps to 200Mbps.

"Our growing global presence has given us the opportunity to engage with telecommunications innovators worldwide who challenge the status quo in the pursuit of excellence," said Jeff Reedy, CEO, Overture. "ICOM continues to be a pacesetter -- finding new and creative ways to provide their customers with best-in-class service, performance, and value. We're pleased to be working with the ICOM team and look forward to continuing this collaborative, productive partnership."
